Laaj Episode 01 Review: A Powerful Start to Green TV’s Revenge Drama

Laaj (Episode 01) is a new and highly anticipated series that was first aired on May 30th, 2026, through Green TV Entertainment. This first episode introduces the audience to a very compelling storyline, in which there will be a lot of emotional conflict, rejection, obsession, and ultimately revenge; this first episode is a great way to create interest in a TV series, and it has a very strong cast with Aiza Awan, Syed Jibran, and Sachal Afzal being a part of this series.

If you enjoy watching Pakistani dramas that contain layered emotions, are based on power struggles, and centred around revenge, you will definitely feel that Laaj has started with that type of energy.

What Happened in Laaj Episode 01?

In the very first episode of this drama, we learn about the central conflict to the storyline. This show is about love and how love can turn into an ugly thing when it’s tainted by ego and rejection. Within the first few scenes, there are several extremely tense moments filled with unresolved pain and deep emotional scars.

The episode gives us a chance to get to know the major characters before the scene unfolds. Creating a sense of mystery around the intent of the major characters, the show establishes relationships and builds an air of suspense.

The major theme that this first episode introduces is unrequited love. What may have started out as affection now becomes something dangerous. The show suggests that when someone is rejected, this does not necessarily promote healing and in some cases, leads to obsession. The emotional change from unrequited love to obsession is one of the most compelling aspects of the episode.

Laaj Episode 01 Review

Another running theme through the episode is wounded pride. Many revenge-based dramas are often based on a moment of betrayal, humilation, etc. Laaj suggests that an individual's wounded pride has a dramatic impact on how they will respond to future situations or people who may present a threat to their pride.

As episode 1 of Laaj develops, we begin to understand how one person's pain can have a ripple effect through other people's lives including those that are totally innocent and caught up in the conflict.

Key Highlights of Laaj Episode 01

1. Set Up the Audience with Strong Emotions

The first episode effectively creates emotional tension, which creates suspense but doesn't feel rushed. Each scene in the episode feels purposeful and meaningful as it establishes the groundwork for the emotional conflict to come. The dialogue in the episode is emotional and portrays unresolved emotional trauma.

2. Great Symbolism; Vengeance

The drama highlights psychological elements of vengeance, as opposed to physical conflict, which makes the overall story more exciting, and causes the viewer to wonder what lengths each of the characters will go to for it. The emotional manipulation seen in the first episode suggests even more severe incidences will occur in future episodes.

3. Outstanding Acting

Aiza Awan gives a powerful performance as Abeera; she portrays vulnerability and strength through her expressions. Syed Jibran plays Shahnawaz Murad with recognition on the screen and has a commanding presence that adds a level of seriousness and command to the drama. Sachal Afzal gives a great performance also as Asad especially in emotional scenes.

While many Pakistani drama viewers want stories that provide entertainment beyond just romance, Laaj seems to meet the requirement by providing depth, emotion, and suspense.

One unique aspect of the first episode is how it has piqued the audience's interest by not revealing too much about the characters or their motivations (which is a very smart approach from the writers). Viewers were left wanting to know more about all of these characters, which will keep them watching.

Social media reactions also indicate that fans want to learn more about the revenge plot and character arcs. The major question after watching episode 1 is very simple; Will love be used as a tool to heal, or is revenge going to be used to destroy?
